JULIAN CHOWN

Julian has been working in the music business for many years as a producer, songwriter, keyboard player, arranger, engineer, programmer, performer in London, Europe and the US. His strengths are in Electro, Pop, Rock, R&B and acoustic music. When it comes to live playing he is sensitive to all styles and enjoys playing with groove elements.

He began his career in various London Recording Studios during the early 90s whilst studying engineering/production/arranging/analysis for 8 years. He has worked with Universal Music Publishing, Sony BMG, London Records, Kingsize, Dust 2 Dust, Black on Black, Creative Source, and Island's - Brown Punk Records, whilst working with tv and computer game companies on sound design and music composition. He tours occasionally, playing keyboards and music directing when not in the studio.

His residential recording studio is based on London's famous King's Road which has been running since 2001. It was from there that he produced, mixed and co-wrote with acts such as Valerie M "Maxfield" (R&B/Soul - album - Island/Brown Punk Records/ Blue Mountain Music), "Craig Walker" (Rock - "Good to Know" Sony BMG & Universal / "Into the Void" Universal), "The Hightower Set"/"Appleseed"/"Blackwater Industries" (Breakbeat - Kingsize Records and Rumour Records), "Patrissia" (Commercial R&B - Fargain Records) who was in the US Charts recently, and many more.

Playstation 2 audio includes sound design and audio implementation on titles such as "This is Football", "The Getaway" Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, "Train Simulator 2" Kuju Entertainment, "Bionicle Hero's" Eidos, "Stranded" Glu Mobile Games. He has also worked as a composer for BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, Inta Wara Yassi, BBH, Tiger Aspect, Snowdog Productions, Salt Film, Personification Films, to name's but a few...

His passion is working with creatives of all fields, by luring and conjuring up the best performance out of the many artists he works with. His inspiring approach to music and audio really does make a difference. He pushes boundaries to create and fuse vibrance, by twisting and turning the list of performance possibilities.
